Pamela, After the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act this year, Republicans thought they could lock in power across the South by redrawing voting maps and breaking up Black communities. But voters fought back. Turnout started surging in majority-Black counties across the South. Races that had previously been written off as “unwinnable” are now clearly competitive — as long as we keep up the fight in this new political battleground.
