Our ads stopped working

Hi, it’s Lexie, Sherrod’s Finance Director.

I know you’ve been hearing from us a lot recently. Emails, mailers, phone calls, texts (I get them too). I wanted to take a moment to reach out to you personally, to give you a peek behind the curtain.

Over the weekend, our digital fundraising ads suddenly started massively underperforming. Ads account for around 25% of our online fundraising, so when they stop raising, alarm bells start ringing.

Our ads are still running, so we don’t know what happened or why they stopped raising, but what we do know is that suddenly thousands of dollars that we were counting on raising disappeared.

To make matters worse, today is the day we wire money to Ohio TV stations to keep our ads on air. We’re facing a major budget crunch, and we’re counting on emails like this one to get us back on track.
