We won't let the Trump Administration destroy our way of life...

Pamela, just five weeks ago, Common Cause launched our Fire Kristi Noem campaign – and 86,664 of our members called for Kristi Noem's removal. I'm writing with some great news: she's officially GONE. This is YOUR victory – and a victory for every American who refused to stay silent while our government was weaponized against the very people it's sworn to protect. More than anyone else (besides Stephen Miller… more on him later), Noem was the face of the Trump administration's disastrous failure to keep us safe. She sent masked, armed agents to terrorize our neighbors, then went on TV to lie about the Americans they harassed, terrorized, and even killed. She had no place in any position of public trust – and now, thanks to you, she's done. So, as we continue our work to see this country through – and beyond – the Trump era, I want to reflect on some of the lessons we can learn from this big win. As soon as Noem sent thousands of ICE agents to Minnesota, our organizers and partners on the ground sprang into action – getting out in the streets to keep people safe and upholding their right to speak out against the horrific killings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. Meanwhile, in D.C., our team identified the lawmakers who'd decide whether or not ICE would get even more of our tax dollars to make war on American cities, and immediately put massive constituent pressure on them to say NO. Pamela, we're celebrating this victory – and you should be too. But I hope you also agree we cannot and will not return to business as usual. Kristi Noem might be the scapegoat, but Stephen Miller – and President Trump himself – are the real masterminds behind this cruel and un-American agenda. They want to bring our society back to the 1950s (or the 1850s), and don't want you to have any say in the matter. And, you can always count on Common Cause to draw a line in the sand and tell them: hell no. So, expect to hear from us in the coming weeks about how we're working to end ICE's terror campaign – exposing Stephen Miller, demanding federal investigations, and holding members of Congress who vote to fund them accountable.
