Car Manufacturing Plant Shutdowns Could Cost Half a Million US Jobs

Trump's attacks on clean energy are killing jobs and raising our bills. Just this month, there were eight more mass layoffs totaling more than 10,000 jobs killed. We must protect American manufacturing. Sign on if you're with us:
Those aren't projections, Pamela. They're happening right now. And that's been the trend since Trump won the election and made a promise to take down the clean energy industry. That's nearly 175,000 clean energy jobs and counting lost or stalled. Companies have canceled or delayed more than 363 projects, wiping out more than $61 billion in private investment. And the losses are accelerating, with even more jobs cut in just the past few weeks as factories shut down and projects collapse.
Clean energy jobs are getting the axe. Factories are closing. Manufacturing in the USA is on the decline. And meanwhile, our electric bills under Trump keep on rising.
We can't afford this clean energy crisis. Add your name today to demand policies that protect manufacturing jobs, lower energy costs, and put American workers first.
A battery plant built to anchor a Midwestern comeback is now laying off 550 workers permanently and idling 850 more. Another in Atlanta just cut 1,000 workers from their plant. A $200 million offshore wind manufacturing facility that would have revived a former coal town got scrapped. This is what it looks like when the Trump administration reverses federal support meant to modernize auto plants and protect hundreds of union jobs. Workers and families pay the price.
At the same time, Trump is pushing us toward costly, reckless conflicts overseas that threaten to send gas prices even higher. Instead of investing in stable, affordable energy here at home, he's creating more global instability while pulling the plug on the very clean energy projects that would lower costs for American families. That means higher prices at the pump, higher utility bills, and more strain on working people -- all while manufacturing jobs disappear.
This is what an energy crisis actually looks like: Factories left empty and abandoned while families face higher utility bills. When federal policy shifts overnight, companies stall hiring. When grants disappear, projects collapse.
Trump made a promise to manufacturing communities. Now, those communities are watching projects disappear, paychecks shrink, and utility bills skyrocket. Add your name today to demand policies that protect jobs, lower energy costs, and restore certainty for American workers.
We can build an economy that creates good-paying, family-supporting jobs, while producing affordable energy right here in the USA. But, we cannot do it with leadership that keeps pulling the plug.
