Tell DeSantis to veto the Florida version of the SAVE Act >>
Pamela, the Florida Legislature passed its own version of the SAVE Act – a cruel, calculated attack on every Floridian's right to vote.
Florida's 2026 legislative session ended on Friday. Lawmakers couldn't find time to pass a budget, but they found time at the very end to pass HB 991, which will block thousands of U.S. citizens in Florida from voting.
Let's show Governor DeSantis just how many of us are paying attention and demand he veto HB 991 >>
With your help, we've been fighting this voter purge bill at every turn – from grassroots phone banks to pressure lawmakers in key districts, to the halls of the Capitol Building in Tallahassee. Together, we defeated this bill last year, but now the Governor's desk is the last stop before it becomes law.
Life is getting increasingly harder and more expensive in Florida. I don't think its coincidence that this bill will purge the very voters who are suffering most from Florida's affordability crisis – seniors, students, people with disabilities, and lower-income Floridians. Our lawmakers don't want to be help accountable.
Under this bill, all new and existing voters would have their records checked in error-prone government databases. If the database doesn't have the correct documentation on file for you, you have to submit specific documents to prove your citizenship. If you don't have the documents, you don't get to vote – even if you've been voting for years.
Many Floridians don't have a passport or their original birth certificate – and getting replacements is expensive. The last thing Floridians need is another expense. And they certainly shouldn't have an added expense to exercise their right to vote as Americans.
This is a moment to stand on principle. Add your name to tell the Governor: Every eligible Floridian deserves the freedom to vote without jumping through impossible hoops. Veto HB 991 >>
Thank you for taking action today, and for all you do!
