But believe it or not, the Trump Administration is actually considering bringing it back! When asked to address Americans who are worried that Trump will force a draft for his illegal Iran war, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt refused to rule it out – saying it's not "off of the table." [1] It's simply beyond the pale: they won't rule out making you, your children, or your grandchildren fight and die for his illegal war – a war they haven't even put up for a vote in Congress. That tells you everything you need to know about how recklessly they're treating American lives. And at the same time, Trump is reportedly planning to demand $50 billion in additional funding for this war [2] – taxpayer dollars that could be used to instead fund healthcare, schools, and infrastructure here at home. We need to make it clear to members of Congress: you can't hide behind Trump as he tramples the rule of law and endangers military and civilian lives. Our lawmakers must draw a line and say NO to a draft, NO to more funding, and NO to Trump's illegal war. Tell Congress: Do your job. [4] But instead of asking our elected representatives in Congress where they stand, he's gearing up to demand they write him a $50 billion check to keep it going. And now, he won't even rule out forcing Americans into a draft. Meanwhile, families across this country are still waiting for their government to do something, anything, to make life less expensive. Every dollar spent on warmongering abroad is a dollar taken away from struggling Americans. Pamela, it's not hard to see what's really happening here. Heading into the 2026 midterms, Trump knows he's failing to lower costs for working people. He knows voters are demanding answers about ICE violence. He might have even seen the polls that reveal a majority of voters think he launched this war at least in part to cover up the Epstein crimes.
