Yesterday, Senate Republicans blocked a bill that would have funded FEMA and TSA. They're standing in the way of ending this government shutdown and holding FEMA funding hostage to prevent holding ICE accountable.
Enough with the charades. Americans agree we must hold ICE accountable and stop blocking FEMA aid that some communities have been waiting months for. Add your name if you're one of them:
Let's be clear: When Republican senators decided to block this bill and head out early for the weekend, they decided to force TSA workers to go without pay. They decided to continue holding FEMA funding hostage. And all this to avoid any accountability for ICE terrorizing our cities and communities.
These lawmakers love to talk about disaster relief when they can use it to score political points or a bargaining chip, but they won't do anything to actually get that funding out to the communities that need it. If Republicans in Congress actually cared about keeping people safe and helping communities recover from disasters, they would fund FEMA, not ICE. Pamela, sign on to stand with millions of Americans in demanding Congress hold DHS accountable. Fund FEMA, not ICE.
