A few concrete steps you can take today to protect free and fair elections and grow our movement for democracy:

Action is the antidote to anxiety

Where to start, Pamela?

If you're feeling overwhelmed by all the attacks on our democracy, our freedoms, and our shared humanity, you should know you're not alone.

And you should know this: would-be autocrats want you to feel overwhelmed. They hope that by piling outrage on top of outrage and suffering on top of suffering, they can demoralize and demobilize our movement.

But as the saying goes, action is the antidote to anxiety. We can't win a permanent victory in one day, but we each have the power to move the needle. And every time we choose to use that power, we strengthen our democracy.

Here are few concrete steps you can take today to help protect free and fair elections and grow our team:

  • Be an early warning system — share this post outlining the red flags in a potential upcoming executive order. MAGA allies of Donald Trump are trying to lay the groundwork for him to declare a fake "national emergency" to seize control over elections ahead of the midterms (which would be blatantly unconstitutional). They've circulated a now-exposed draft executive order with drastic restrictions on the freedom to vote. But they're counting on being able to operate in the shadows — so we can fight back right now by shining a light on their schemes. Together, we'll be ready to hold strong against this illegal attempt at a power grab.

  • Share this podcast episode where our CEO and co-founder Lauren Groh-Wargo connects the dots between the Trump FBI's raid on an elections office in Fulton County and the broader plot to interfere with the 2026 midterms. She also explains how we can fight back for democracy. Anti-democracy forces hope that their efforts will go under the radar, but we can make sure that's not possible.

  • If you or someone you know is based in Georgia, join our team for a legislative briefing on Tuesday, April 7th at 7:00PM ET, post-Sine Die, the last day of Georgia's legislative session. We'll share Fair Fight Action's insights into how the laws passed by Georgia lawmakers interact with the growing federal threats to our right to vote.

  • Forward this email to someone else who may be feeling overwhelmed and wants to support the pro-democracy movement but doesn't know where to start.

We've got each other's backs. And together, we've got real power.

In solidarity,

The Fair Fight Action Team
