BREAKING: Pentagon to seek more than $200 BILLION to fuel Trump's war on Iran.[1]
Pamela, if you find that number shocking, that's because it is. In fact, it's more than the annual defense budget of just about every other country.
Earlier reports indicated the White House was preparing to request $50 billion from Congress for an illegal war that has no justification and unclear goals. Late yesterday, news broke that Defense Secretary Hegseth is quadrupling that initial figure to $200 BILLION — approximately $1,500 per American household.
It's a recipe for endless war and more suffering. And we're going to shut it down.
A request like this requires 60 votes in the Senate. That means we have a clear path to stop this supplemental. And as lawmakers are asked to respond in the coming days, we need to be in their inboxes NOW, reminding them that a vote to fund Trump's war is a vote in favor of Trump's war.

This war needs to end now. Already, Trump's illegal, unjustified war has upended millions of lives, killing more than 3,100 in Iran including 207 children, 13 U.S. servicemembers, and hundreds more people in Lebanon and across the Middle East. In Iran alone, 3.2 million have been forced to flee their homes.
No one is made safer by this violence, and The New York Times reports the war has only empowered hardliner leaders in Iran to close ranks.[2]
The price tag has now exceeded $24 billion and continues to grow by the day.
That's $41 million each hour. $11,000 every single second.
Those are your taxpayer dollars, Pamela. The billions already spent, plus the $200 BILLION Hegseth seeks, would be enough to restore food assistance for four million Americans, establish universal pre-K, and pay for 100,000 homes.
Outrageously, this request comes less than two months after Congress approved a record-breaking TRILLION-DOLLAR Pentagon budget. The only ones who benefit from accounting like this are the weaponmakers and hawks who have failed to learn the simple truth that you can't build safety with bombs and bullets.
We say: No More. A $200 billion supplemental is a non-starter. Let's make sure every lawmaker on Capitol Hill gets that message now.
Send a message to your lawmakers: Not another dime for Trump's illegal war!
It's not lost on us that this request is coming almost 23 years to the day of the disastrous U.S. invasion of Iraq. Many of you reading this email marched against that war decades ago. We did so because we were outraged and opposed to the notion that our government would ignore all international law, abandon diplomacy, and choose to use overwhelming military force with devastating results.
We will not sit back and let history repeat itself. The truth is that people pushing for peace are the majority — but our work is far from finished.
War is not inevitable. War is a choice, and together, will keep pushing our leaders to make a different choice.
Thank you for working for peace,
