Our volunteers aren't taking Gov. Ron DeSantis's latest extreme scheme to gerrymander the Sunshine State's congressional map lying down.
Right now, Redistricting Action and a coalition of partners are taking action, holding monthly trainings where Floridians can learn about the legislative process and how to get involved, supporting rallies on the ground, and providing 24/7 info on the best ways to speak out for the fair maps movement.
We're showing up anywhere and everywhere to resist efforts to make Florida's map even more overtly partisan and racially biased than it already is — and with a special legislative session planned to rush through a new gerrymander, this fight is happening, whether we like it or not.
In normal times, Florida wouldn't even be considering redistricting. In fact, DeSantis already pushed through an appallingly gerrymandered map just four years ago — one that eliminated the state's only Black-majority district. Should the latest DeSantis push be successful, Florida would get even more unfairly skewed, and further rob Black and brown communities of fair representation.
We can't let this happen again.
