Yesterday, the IPC determined famine in two more areas of Sudan, signaling a deadly expansion of the hunger crisis in the conflict-torn country that is threatening children's lives. With their own lives on the line, our staff is working to deliver urgent health care and supplies to children and families who are desperate to escape the violence. Meanwhile, in Gaza, heavy rains and strong winds are battering displacement camps. Save the Children team members are working around the clock — with leaking tents, stagnant water and sewage all around them — to provide lifesaving care to children. In Ukraine, children are missing school due to the freezing cold. Amid plummeting temperatures and new attacks on the country’s energy supply, Save the Children team members are providing catch-up lessons, repairing schools and delivering online learning to ensure children don’t miss out on their education after four years of disruption. This is what it looks like to put children first, friend — and why it’s so important that supporters like you continue to power our work for children across the globe. At a time when violence, fear and extreme inequality are harming children in the U.S. and around the world, we must show up to put children first. As Chief Financial Officer at Save the Children, I know firsthand the impact your gift has. Support from our donors has enabled our teams to continue vital work to help children survive and thrive despite global funding cuts. I’m reaching out to ask you to make a gift today that’ll help ensure children get the health, education and protection they deserve. Make a tangible impact on the lives of children around the world by donating now. |
