TAKE ACTION: Demand the Senate reject more funding for ICE to hurt us >>
Pamela, Congress is on the verge of approving billions more taxpayer dollars for ICE, but it's not a done deal. Your voice matters now more than ever.
This week, Democrats in Congress released their 10 demands for ICE reform – and many are strong reforms that Common Cause has already called for: banning racial profiling, protecting schools and polling places, and expanding oversight. [1]
But let's remember – one of the biggest problems you and I have with this Administration is that they blatantly ignore the rule of law.
So, when we're up against an out-of-control agency that is terrorizing our communities, we shouldn't ask for the bare minimum in return – we must demand the democracy we all deserve.
That means: firing Kristi Noem and top DHS leadership, pulling ICE out of our communities now, and creating truly independent oversight to finally hold federal agents accountable for abuses.
We can't let Congress give this administration a green light to continue business as usual. You can help demand better, right here and right now.
Tell the Senate: Don't write ICE the $10 billion check Trump is asking for >>
What's happening right now goes far beyond immigration policy.
Trump and Noem have built a secret police force designed to operate above the law – fueled by massive spending, political loyalty, and a near-total lack of oversight. That's simply not compatible with a healthy democracy.
And when our members of Congress – whose job is to act as a check on the president – keep funding these abuses, they give Trump and his cronies the green light to escalate even further.
This is a defining moment. The Senate must refuse to fund ICE unless there is real accountability, real consequences, and real change.
Join us to tell the Senate: Reject more ICE funding without accountability >>
Thanks for all you do,
The team at Common Cause
