The Department of Education is critical to our country's success. And Donald Trump knows that. That's why he's continuing to attack public education by dismantling the Dept. of Education, laying off roughly half of its workforce.
But through DOGE, Trump and his cronies are hellbent on shuttering any and all agencies that don't adhere to his white supremacist, corrupt ethos. Presidents shouldn't have the authority to shutter critical agencies just because they feel like it.
20 attorneys general sued the Trump administration to stop the dismantling of the Dept. of Education. But since then, Trump's attacks have only expanded. Tell all attorneys general to join the lawsuit to stop Trump from dismantling the Dept. of Education.
This is a chilling effect, Pamela. If Trump gets his way here, what other agencies will he shut down because they don't serve him or his billionaire donors. He believes that if he doesn't directly benefit his wallet, there's no point to it.
Trump wants to use DOGE to do his dirty work; still shutting down agencies that are supposed to help the American people. First USAID, now the Dept. of Education, what's next? We can't sit around and wait for Trump and DOGE to strike. That's why we need to tell the attorneys general to join and continue this lawsuit to stop Trump from dismantling the Dept. of Education piece by piece.
