UN: War has made children violent, sad, and bereft

People are suffering in the face of relentless bombings. ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏

As many gather and celebrate around tables full of food tomorrow, people across the Middle East face a harrowing reality, Pamela:

Thousands of hungry families are facing a third winter of homelessness as aid dwindles. Despite crucial "ceasefires," the bombings of Gaza and Lebanon continue, the death toll is increasing, and the U.S government remains directly culpable.

It's an unacceptable — and completely avoidable — situation. That's why we're racing to respond: Around-the-clock advocacy to demand our government maintain true ceasefires in Lebanon and Gaza. Mobilizing thousands to pressure lawmakers to block the weapons that make the carnage possible. And building powerful coalitions capable of stopping any attempts to reignite this horrific war.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

After six weeks of ceasefire in Gaza, approximately one million people are living in hundreds of overcrowded displacement camps. Children are at particular risk of violence and neglect.[1] Heavy rains have recently flooded displacement camps with sewage, contaminating the meager life-saving aid hundreds of thousands rely on.[2]

Over the same period, Israeli military strikes — including with U.S.-made weapons and support — have recently killed hundreds of people across Gaza and Lebanon. The more these fragile agreements fail, the more waves of violence and suffering we're likely to see.

Unfortunately, the U.S. government seems asleep at the wheel. Even as ceasefires crack, the Trump administration and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu are reportedly discussing a 20-year agreement for tens of BILLIONS of dollars in weapons and the development of deadly new AI-powered surveillance technology. It's a deal likely to further crystallize the horrific violence we're seeing.[3]

Here's what we know:

  • We've helped build a growing coalition in Congress willing to block new weapons sales.
  • Even the Trump administration has applied pressure on PM Netanyahu recently.
  • Partners in the region desperately need groups like Win Without War to keep hope and press on.
  • Rejecting the blank-check U.S. approach to the Israeli government remains an uphill challenge — but we're making crucial progress.

Now, we're applying those lessons to the next phase: Deepening our advocacy to push more members of Congress to act. Expanding the reach of our ads and campaigning tactics so that no one can ignore the harm we're complicit in. And continuing to mobilize a movement of people united in their desire for peace and justice.

As the holiday season kicks off and many will step back, Win Without War is only digging in — that's why we're reaching out, Pamela.

The sad truth? Bombs and bullets aren't the only problem we face. Despair and complacency are dangerous, too.

That's why our community gives us so much hope. You are the people who refuse to look away. You are the ones who will help build the world we all want and deserve: One where we all live and thrive without the threat of violence.

Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
