Can we send you a free sticker?

MoveOn has just printed a big batch of these "Cancel Student Debt" stickers, and we're giving them away for free, while supplies last!

Dear MoveOn member,

Since 1980, college tuition costs have increased by 169%, but wages have stagnated, leading to a student debt crisis that has ballooned to $1.7 trillion—and in just over six weeks, millions of Americans are going to be hit once again with crushing student loan payments after the pandemic moratorium ends.1

It does not have to be this way.

President Biden has promised to forgive at least $10,000 of student debt for all borrowers, and legal experts believe he has the power to cancel all federally owned student debt immediately by executive order.2 With January 1, 2022—the date that student loan payments will be reinstated—looming, the time is now to get loud and demand that President Biden keep his promise.

Nearly 45 million Americans have student debt, with monthly payments averaging $300 or more.3 This crushing debt is keeping millions of people in poverty and preventing others from buying homes, starting businesses, saving for retirement, or even starting families.4

And because of both the gender pay gap and race-based income disparities, women and people of color are saddled with even more debt and forced to pay it off over a longer period of time, further exacerbating wage gaps and limiting wealth-building opportunities for marginalized communities.5

If President Biden made good on his promise to cancel student debt, the impact on millions of people and their families would be immediate and profound. For example, research shows that cancelling student debt would help close the racial wealth gap by over 20%.6

And cancelling student debt is extremely popular: More than two-thirds of Americans support President Biden's promise of cancelling $10,000 of debt, and more than 50% support cancelling $50,000 of debt from all borrowers.7

The answer is clear. It's time to hold our elected officials to their word, and it's time to cancel student debt. Click here to order your free sticker now!

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support our work? Right-wing groups are spending tens of millions of dollars on TV ads to smear critical progressive legislation. Meanwhile, donations to progressive groups like MoveOn are plummeting now that a Democrat is in the White House, meaning we don't have the resources to fight back. That's a huge problem, and that's why we urgently need your support.

Will you chip in to fight right-wing lies and pass urgent legislation to confront the multiple crises our country faces?
