Pamela,
It's been 16 days since the government shut down and families are the ones left paying the price.
Federal workers will miss paychecks, small businesses are losing income, and vital services are grinding to a halt. Some are even being fired. Airports are already feeling the strain as TSA agents and air traffic controllers are being forced to work without pay, causing dangerous staffing shortages and long delays for travelers.
Meanwhile, Trump is threatening to cancel billions more in clean energy investments -- killing good-paying jobs, raising energy costs, and undermining the progress our communities have fought for.
This shutdown is a choice -- a cruel, calculated one. Trump and Republicans control every lever of the federal government, yet they're gambling with people's livelihoods to protect the wealthy few. Every day it drags on, families are pushed closer to the brink while those responsible remain untouched.
It's easy to feel helpless in this moment, but you can take action. Your Representative needs to hear from you:
If your Representative is fighting to protect families and lower costs -- thank them for holding the line. If not, demand they stop siding with Trump and billionaires and immediately work to reopen the government. Our easy-to-use form will populate a draft depending on which side they're on.
This shutdown may have started in DC, but its impact reaches every community across the country. Let's remind Congress who they work for -- and make sure they put people before politics.
Thanks for taking action,
Climate Power
