Pamela, Trump's $1.1 billion cuts to PBS and NPR have gutted independent, free media across the country. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) - the backbone of PBS and NPR's funding - was forced to shut down at the end of September due to Trump's cuts. [1] And already, communities are feeling the cuts. PBS Kids had to cut 25% of its staff and cancelled community events across the country [2], and local stations like New Jersey PBS have been forced to shut down completely. [3] How important do you think it is to restore funding for PBS, NPR, and other independent public media outlets? That's because PBS and NPR are required to be objective by law.
