AI technologies are pushing people to mental health crises, throwing the healthcare system into chaos, and discriminating against people in the hiring process. Big Tech corporations are letting their artificial intelligence tech run rampant throughout society without guardrails, no matter the disastrous effects.
And now, Ted Cruz is pushing dangerous legislation to gut the few AI safety protections that currently exist. Cruz's SANDBOX Act would amount to a "sweetheart deal for Big Tech CEOs," creating loopholes for Big Tech and the Trump administration to easily exploit, and allowing corporations like OpenAI, Meta and Amazon to run full steam ahead with powerful, unregulated AI tech.
America needs stronger safety measures for AI technologies, not Cruz's all-out deregulation. Lawmakers must protect the public from the dangers of AI and oppose this bill.

Ted Cruz's bill puts corporate CEOs and Big Tech profits ahead of the public. There's no other explanation for legislation that entrusts consumer protection to the very corporations that are recklessly implementing AI technologies with zero concern for their social or environmental impacts.
"The only innovation happening in this bill is creating new ways for the Trump Administration to strip away standards that hold Big Tech accountable for violating privacy, endangering kids online, and letting scammers rip off seniors and veterans," said the Tech Oversight Project.
Congress must stop this terrifying giveaway to Big Tech.
