I hope you saw the email from former Attorney General Eric Holder yesterday. We're thrilled he and President Obama have made ending gerrymandering a top priority, and our team is already making big strides during this once-in-a-decade redistricting process.

As All On The Line's Director of Mobilization, I wanted to reach out and introduce myself.

From time to time, you'll probably get a few emails from me. I'll let you know about training and volunteer opportunities, alert you about ways you can get involved locally, and yes, occasionally, I might ask you to chip in a few dollars to support our campaign.

This campaign is built on supporters like you helping to spread the word, Pamela. We believe in running this campaign transparently — every strategic decision we're talking about in the office, we want to share with you.

We've built a comprehensive plan to build, train, and deploy a grassroots army so that we can tackle gerrymandering head on. Here's what we're doing:

• Engaging and educating stakeholders about the redistricting process, including the public, elected officials, redistricting commission members, and others using online advocacy tools such as our letter-to-the editor (LTE) tool.
• Motivating our vast network of volunteers to protect and expand democratic ideals with a particular emphasis on ensuring there is an open and transparent redistricting process.
• Executing a state-by-state strategy in our target states to achieve fair maps. Each state is different and requires a customized, targeted strategy. Our personalized approach will help ensure the final maps better reflect the communities they're intended to serve.

It's an ambitious plan.

But we're trying to solve a big problem facing our democracy — so we have to meet this challenge head on and come together to do the hard work of restoring our democracy.
