But all of our momentum slows down if we can't fund it.

Pamela, Let's be honest: we're facing a tough stretch. Our Year-End fundraising has slowed, and if it doesn't pick up soon, we'll have to make hard cuts in the new year. That means fewer organizers. Volunteers absent from the field. Less people power to hold the line when our democracy is under attack. In a year like 2026 – where we'll face the ever-important midterm elections, attacks on our rights, and an all-out push to consolidate power behind one man, we can't afford to do that. Not while powerful institutions and companies abandon their principles for political gain. Not while politicians redraw our maps to silence We The People. Not while the same handful of elites rewrite the rules to lock the rest of us out. But here's what gives us hope: this movement doesn't rely on billionaires' goodwill. It's powered by all of us – coming together, giving what we can, and refusing to sit this one out. For over fifty years, Common Cause has stood for the simple, but powerful idea that government should serve the people. And we're building lasting infrastructure – not just for the next election, but for the next decade of fights, to prove that idea is still worth believing in. But that takes organizing, year-round. Every single day, our staff and volunteers are mobilizing to protect voting rights, defend fair maps, expose corruption, and make our democracy work better – for everyone. Pamela, all of that momentum will slow down – at the worst moment possible – if we can't fund it.
