We knew Pete Hegseth was unfit to lead the Pentagon before he was nominated, Pamela.
Every day since, he's proven us correct — most recently, by being implicated in illegal orders and gross human rights violations for his role in Trump's unauthorized bombing campaign off the coasts of Latin America.
Win Without War has been sounding the alarm about Hegseth since the very beginning, and we've kept the pressure on ever since. Now, as the Defense Secretary's tenure begins to unravel, we're going all in.
As a growing number of people are threatened by Hegseth's reckless — and in some cases illegal — orders, we're launching a pivotal campaign to push back and defend communities at home and abroad. How? By pushing Pete out of the Pentagon.
Taking on one of the most powerful people in the Trump administration is an uphill challenge that requires a strategic, sophisticated, multi-pronged effort: Mobilizing partners across the country, directly engaging offices on Capitol Hill, and amplifying our calls to action to wider audiences across social media platforms to build a movement powerful enough to push him out.
We're not afraid to make enemies in high places, but a fight like this won't come easy or cheap. That's why we're asking for your support today.

From private "businessmen" like notorious Blackwater founder Erik Prince, to public officials like former democratic Senator Bob Menendez, Win Without War has never shied away from a fight when our values are on the line. For years, we've shone a light to expose corrupt and unethical behavior — and then used every tool at our disposal to demand accountability and justice once those misdeeds are uncovered.
That means calling out anyone pushing for a world that serves weapons dealers and war profiteers over people and democracy — people like Pete Hegseth.
From Day 1, Hegseth has been embroiled in scandal after scandal. The public has had enough of these failures, with just 38% approving of his job thus far.[1] Now, amidst growing concerns over the September 2 "double tap" strike that allegedly killed two survivors clinging to wreckage in the middle of the Caribbean, members of both parties are taking a closer look at Hegseth's record.
It's opened up a crucial opportunity to focus in on Trump's horrific war machine, and Hegseth's place at the helm. Forcing Hegseth from office not only removes a dangerously unfit-to-serve leader — it throws a wrench in Trump's broader authoritarian project, which relies on the military to sow terror abroad and threaten democracy at home.
To get him out, we'll have to stay laser-focused on seizing every gaff and leak, engaging in relentless calls for public testimony and accountability, and pushing Congress non-stop to do their job and demand nothing less than qualified leadership at the Pentagon. It's a months-long fight, but it's what we need to do as an out-of-control Defense Secretary weaponizes our military against us.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
