We've learned our lessons from decades of U.S. wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, and beyond, Pamela, but we can't say the same about our self-proclaimed "president of peace."
When Trump grows desperate, he escalates. Right now, that looks like reaching for a tired and dangerous violence-first playbook: Designating fentanyl a "weapon of mass destruction" in a chilling callback to the Bush-Cheney lies used to drag us into war in Iraq and amassing the largest military presence off the coast of Venezuela ever to rehash a strategy that's been used to justify multiple U.S.-backed military coups and wrecked thousands of lives across Latin America.
To be ready for what comes next, we have one more goal to meet, and we want to share exactly what's at stake in our ambitious, multi-pronged campaign to prevent another endless war:
