This sort of reckless, politically motivated firing is par for the course with Trump – but this one reveals his whole approach to governing better than any in recent memory.   When we have data that shows a problem in our country, a real leader would take action to solve it. To Trump, the only problem is that the facts make him look bad, and his only response is to try and silence the data gatherers. So instead of changing course, Trump is trying to stop the truth from getting out. And his actions – baselessly disputing jobs numbers he doesn't like, and sending a message to every other public official that they need to fall in line or lose their jobs – threatens Americans' trust in the data our government collects and reports.
