Our democracy works best when we stay informed and engaged. Join us TOMORROW, Wednesday, August 27, from 1–2 PM ET for our August Democracy Seminar with PEN America Florida!
Pamela, politicians are pushing book bans and censoring classrooms, silencing voices and undermining our democracy.
That's why, for this month's Common Cause Florida Democracy Seminar, we're bringing in PEN America Florida to share their work defending free expression and our right to learn.
PEN America Florida is working to fight censorship and protect Florida's literary and learning communities. Their efforts include:
Calling out book banning and censorship across Florida schools and libraries since 2021.
Providing resources and support to communities resisting censorship.
Celebrating literary communities to ensure diverse voices continue to be heard.
This is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with others who are passionate about building more representative and inclusive democratic systems.
Register and join us in the conversation. Together, we'll make sure every Floridian's voice is heard and our democracy stays strong.
We hope to see you there!
