Dear Pamela,
Meet Nina. Nina Valdez is a crew member at a Trader Joe's store in Kentucky where she has worked for nearly five years.
This summer, Nina was diagnosed with scoliosis and has been in treatment since. After Nina's medical team directed her to seek accommodations from Trader Joe's due to pain while working the cash register, Nina submitted ADA accommodation forms to management.
The next day, instead of supporting Nina with reasonable accommodations, Trader Joe's responded by forcing Nina onto an unpaid, two-month medical leave without her consent. Nina is fighting to get back to work. Can you chip in to help her cover basic life expenses until she is allowed to return to work?
Since being forced on unpaid medical leave two weeks ago, Nina has submitted countless doctor's notes clearing her to return to work. Each has been denied by Trader Joe's management.

This is not the first time that Trader Joe's United, the independent union of TJ's workers, has had to help a member return to work from a forced medical leave. While the union fights for Nina's return to the store, she is still without any form of income and urgently needs funds to make ends meet.
Please consider a donation to Nina's GoFundMe so she can cover her ongoing medical treatment, bills, groceries, and rent.
In Solidarity,
The Labor Force
