[2] This is precisely what Trump and Abbott want: to bait every other state into a gerrymandering free-for-all, where politicians pick their voters while the rest of us get no say. But for this incumbent-protection scheme to succeed in Texas, they need to rush through a new voting map in just 30 days, with minimal public input, to hand Trump the five more GOP seats he wants and lock in minority rule.
