ICE agents are hiding their identities and acting as Trump's secret police — rounding up innocent people, imprisoning them in horrible detention camps, and destroying families. ICE agents unwilling to show their faces have been a "calling card" of Trump's immigration crackdown.
Law enforcement shouldn't be concealing their identities. ICE's masked raids are also giving rise to racist vigilante impersonators who are harassing and abusing innocent people.
ICE is racing to expand operations and build more horrific tent camps to hold immigrants, which means even more violent ICE raids are coming. To unmask ICE, Congress must pass legislation that makes agents accountable to the public.

ICE's giant funding increase in Trump's budget bill is spurring construction of dangerous tent camps to detain people. When Democratic lawmakers visited the infamous tent camp in Florida that Trump has called Alligator Alcatraz, they saw hundreds of people in intolerable, inhumane conditions. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz called it an "internment camp" and Rep. Maxwell Frost said, "What I saw made my heart sink."
People are suffering and dying in ICE custody. When asked about the growing number of deaths in ICE detention, Trump deportation czar Tom Homan brushed off the public's concerns. "I mean, people die in ICE custody, people die in county jail, people die in state prisons," he said.
And all of Trump's mass deportations terror is being carried out by secret, masked ICE agents. Three bills, the VISIBLE Act, No Masks for ICE Act, and No Secret Police Act, would finally ban ICE agents from concealing their identities and acting as unaccountable secret police.
Congress must take a stand and rein in Trump's out-of-control ICE.
