In less than a week, we will face the most consequential Giving Tuesday campaign we've run here at 350.org.
That's because this Giving Tuesday is about raising the money we need to stop Donald Trump from reversing climate policies that protect our planet.
On Day 1 of his presidency, Trump has said he will "dramatically increase oil and gas drilling."1 We can't let that happen, Pamela.
Trump's plans go far beyond the United States — his presidency is going to mean major setbacks for global policies that address the climate crisis. Trump is vowing to pull out of the Paris Climate Agreement, which will put other countries on the hook to make even bigger reductions to climate pollution.2
And some are saying that Trump will go even further... including removing the United States from the 1992 U.N. treaty underpinning the entire framework for the annual global climate negotiations,3 a much more definitive step that could do lasting damage to the effort to limit the Earth's warming.
Pamela — very soon we will have a climate-denier in the White House who will stop at nothing to make sure the fossil fuel industry has every roadblock and obstacle removed from their path to destroy our planet.
We simply cannot let that happen.
