Democrats in the Senate haven't always moved as quickly to confirm Biden's appointees — now there's no time to waste before Trump takes office. These confirmations matter. Federal judges serve for life, and plenty of agency appointments cross over into the next presidency. Just look at the disastrous head of the Postal Service, Louis DeJoy, who was appointed by Trump and has served during Biden's full term. The Senate also has a chance to pass legislation like the PRESS Act. We need Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats to act swiftly.
