“Women are not without electoral or political power”

Indivisible
The work to win in November starts now. Join our weekend of action June 21-24!

Pamela,

Two years ago today, the country was rocked by this devastating news:

Screenshot of Politico with headline: Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights, draft opinion shows

When the Supreme Court, stacked with Trump's MAGA justices, decided to take up Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, we knew that they had everything in place to overturn Roe. What we didn't know, and what we learned from the leak of the draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito, was the ruthless, callous, and shameless argument that they would make to justify it. We learned that their fundamental hatred for women and those choosing to control their reproductive health knows no bounds.

We also learned something else two years ago: The country was not going to accept this. Thousands and thousands of folks took to the streets, to social media, and to their communities to declare that our freedoms must be defended. Together, we lit a fire that saw abortion rights becoming codified by voters from California to Michigan to Vermont to Ohio, and anti-abortion attacks being rejected in Montana, Kentucky, and Kansas. And in November midterms, when the MAGA GOP was all but guaranteed a "red wave," we made abortion THE issue of the election -- protecting our hold on the Senate and ensuring their House majority would be razor thin.

Justice Alito said in his original opinion, "women are not without electoral or political power." We've proven how true that was. And now, Trump is rallying his base to retake the White House as well as the Senate with promises of a second term full of more horrors: Allowing states to prosecute patients, forcing pregnant people to submit to government monitoring, and permitting states with the most draconian laws to continue their bans. If we want to stop this catastrophic vision for the future and reclaim our rights, we need to go even bigger so that we can defeat MAGA again.

In 2022, we beat the odds by focusing on MAGA extremism and reproductive rights, and we can do it again. That is why we are kicking off our 2024 electoral program with a weekend of action from June 21 to 24, uplifting the anniversary of the Dobbs decision. During our Majority Over MAGA Weekend of Action, Indivisibles will organize press-worthy events across the country to shine a light on MAGA extremism and the power of the movement fighting back against it.

If you're ready to get involved and make this weekend of action a massive mobilization, here's everything you need to get started:

We'll have more updates on our weekend of action in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more information soon.

Two years ago, we turned our outrage into action, and our action into political power. Now, it's time to again declare to Trump, to MAGA, and to the entire country: We won't go back.
