Fun fact: did you know that Pennsylvania is called the Keystone State because of its essential role in the founding of the United States?

I'm one of our Commonwealth's number one fans, so there's a lot more where that came from.

Before I share, my Finance Director, Taylor, said that I can't use this email to only recite facts about Pennsylvania, no matter how much I might want to. I should also ask folks to chip in to help me continue representing the place I've always called home.

With that out of the way, are you ready for some more facts?

Did you know that the first daily newspaper in America was published in Pennsylvania on September 21, 1784 — called the Pennsylvania Packet?

Or that our state tree is the Eastern hemlock, which our first settlers chopped down to build log cabins?

Here's an interesting one. In 1943, for only one season, the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers merged to form one team: the Steagles.

These are just a few of my favorite pieces of Pennsylvania trivia. I love the Commonwealth and its history — it's a big part of who I am.
