Black people are being sacrificed to the climate crisis

They each have a choice between profits and pollution―and every time, they choose profits.   But the impacts of pollution aren't evenly distributed―corporations and policymakers designate "sacrifice zones" through environmental enforcement and zoning. And you can guess who lives in the majority of these Sacrifice Zones: Black people. It's long past time to end the inhumane practice of sacrificing Black and Brown people to corporate profits. Tell Congress to pass legislation ending Sacrifice Zones TODAY! President Biden has issued executive orders to put a moratorium on these policies―but without action from Congress, the next President could reverse those rules on day 1, putting communities in danger. Black people have been on the front lines of the climate crisis―suffering the most from polluted air to natural disasters to cancer mortality. That must end now. Congress needs to pass legislation which invests in clean housing, in public transportation, in protecting Black and Brown communities specifically from the ravages of environmental degradation.
