I have some really incredible news to share with you: in the 24 hours after I set foot on the debate stage Thursday night, this grassroots team raised more than $2 million online.
These donations came from 63,277 people -- 36,861 of whom pitched in for the very first time. Their average contribution was just $30. It was the best day of online fundraising yet, but more importantly, this is what a true campaign For The People looks like.
But we can't afford to take our foot off the gas -- not for one second. It's likely that we will be out-raised by some of our opponents in this crowded primary -- some of whom have run for president before or entered this race with massive war chests of campaign funds.
And we already know that Donald Trump and his allies have amassed well over $100 million for his re-election campaign.
Whoever wins this Democratic primary and faces off against Trump in 2020 needs to be ready for an onslaught of attacks. So we need a candidate who can break through the noise, take on Donald Trump, and defeat him at the ballot box.
I'm ready to be that fighter. I know a rap sheet when I see one -- and I'm ready to prosecute the case against four more years of this Administration. But I won't be able to win without your support.
If you're able, can you add a donation of whatever amount is meaningful and affordable to you before the FEC deadline? Help us seize the momentum of this moment and reach out to millions more undecided voters across this country:
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Your support means the world to me. Let's win this.
For The People,
— Kamala Harris
