Friend,

In an appalling but revealing interview with an anti-abortion news outlet, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just came right out and admitted what we've known all along:

The state abortion bans we're seeing around the country are an opportunity for extreme conservatives to roll back Roe v. Wade.

We can't stand by while anti-choice lawmakers try to tear down the progress we've made for women's health and rights.

Pitch in $1 now to support Democratic efforts to retake the Senate and defend women's reproductive rights >>

I remember what it was like before Roe v. Wade when only women who had resources could get an abortion and be in control of their own body and their life. We can't go back to a time when reproductive health care was only accessible for the wealthy -- we need to fight to make sure every woman, no matter where she lives or what she can afford, has access to the health care they need.

In his recent interview, Leader McConnell pledged to renew attacks on Planned Parenthood, bragged about ushering anti-choice judges on to the federal bench, and declared that this is an opportunity for the anti-choice movement to fundamentally change America's commitment to reproductive rights.

We are facing the biggest threat to Roe we've witnessed in a generation and we have to fight back right away.

Rush a donation to help Democrats take power away from Mitch McConnell and protect women's reproductive rights >>

Thank you,

Patty Murray
U.S. Senator, Washington state
