Pamela: Trump just brought us to the brink of all-out war by recklessly, ineffectively, and illegally bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities. In the coming days, the Senate could hand him a virtual blank check for BILLIONS more worth of bombs and bullets.
Here's the kicker: While we've been racing tirelessly to prevent a war, Republicans have plotted to pay for Trump's Pentagon plus up by cutting $1 TRILLION to vital programs that people depend on — gutting life-saving programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and more. But a majority of Americans oppose this budget plan.[1] That's why House Republicans passed their budget last month by a one-vote margin.
We have a real opportunity to push this dangerous budget fully off the rails: Republicans in the Senate can only afford three "No" votes — and several have already expressed concerns about the bill. The thing that can help us secure a majority? Constituent voices — and that's why we're reaching out to you, Pamela.

While the Senate subjects budgets for healthcare and food assistance to rigorous scrutiny, debate, and cuts, the Pentagon's topline seems untouchable. Trump and his MAGA cronies claim they can't afford Medicaid, but seem to have no problem wasting billions on weapons for wars we don't need.
Take Saturday night for instance: Trump ordered seven B-2 Spirit Stealth bombers — coming in at a price tag of $2.1 billion EACH — to drop more than a dozen $5 million GBU-57 "bunker buster" bombs targeting nuclear facilities in Iran.[2] The action sent governments across the region on high alert, and put millions of people — including thousands of U.S. troops stationed in the region — in incredible danger.
The result? "According to a still-classified assessment by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the bombs did not 'obliterate' Iran's Fordo enrichment site as Trump continues to claim."[3] Instead, initial intel assessments have found that the illegal strikes set back Iran's nuclear program by just a matter of months.
The absolute last thing we should do right now is reward Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and the other war hawks in his administration with BILLIONS more dollars to spend on bombs and bullets that push us to the brink of all-out war.
