Pamela,
The House passed a federal budget that would gut Medicaid, slash food assistance, and devastate millions of low-income Americans. Billions of dollars would be cut from essential programs just to turn around and fund ICE and hand more tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.
Now, it's up to the Senate to stop it.
Call your senators today and demand they reject this cruel and dangerous budget package.
Rewarding the rich and punishing the poor is never the answer. Handing tax breaks to the wealthy while ignoring basic human needs at a moment when millions are barely hanging on is inhumane.
This isn't just a policy disagreement, it's a threat to people's lives as everyday Americans are trying to make ends meet. If the Senate follows the House's lead, millions could lose the health care and nutrition assistance they depend on. Meanwhile, the ultra-wealthy will get tax cuts and extreme immigration enforcement will see another funding boost.
This bill would:
This bill cuts support while millions of everyday Floridians are struggling to make ends meet:
Medicaid and CHIP cover nearly 4 million Floridians, including 45% of children and 45% of births in the state.
SNAP feeds nearly 3 million Floridians, including 59% from families with children, and 41% from households with seniors or people with disabilities.
30% of Floridians are low-income.
14.6% of Florida adults face eviction risk.
18.7% of Florida's children experience hunger.
While our communities face rising costs and economic uncertainty, Congress is considering a budget that will make everything worse.
The Senate can still do the right thing, but only if we speak up. Call your senators and tell them to reject this cruel budget and stand up for the people they represent.
We deserve a budget that prioritizes people, not profits. One that puts working families, seniors, children, and veterans ahead of corporations and campaign donors.
Let's make sure Florida's senators hear that loud and clear, before it's too late.
Thank you for being a voice for fairness,
