Your Weekly Indivisible Newsletter Indivisibles, Last week, Trump previewed exactly how he's going to tank his popularity and kickstart a backlash to his presidency almost as soon as he takes office. Many factors contributed to Trump's victory, but ultimately he won the election because voters were angry about inflation and believed Trump would lower prices. Some were true MAGA believers, sure. But most just wanted cheaper gas and food. Well, on Wednesday, Time released an interview where Trump admitted he's got no real plan for lowering costs on groceries and might not even try. Then the next day, he showed up to ring the bell for the New York Stock Exchange -- and promised Wall Street he was going to prioritize slashing corporate tax rates. In one 24-hour cycle, you've got the incoming president pledging to pull out all the stops to help the rich get richer while reneging on his promise to help working-class families. It's a pretty politically toxic combination that won't sit well with the vast majority of voters. A lot of people are going to be disillusioned very quickly -- and it's going to be our job to use that disillusionment to break up the fragile GOP coalition and rebuild ours. The Indivisible movement was forged for moments like this. We united not just in opposition, but in a shared vision for a future that acknowledges and addresses the needs of every citizen, not just the privileged few. That vision was set back by Trump's victory, but it's not out of reach. The backlash to MAGA rule is coming, and our Indivisible Guide lays out a plan for how we can use it to score some wins on policy fights, and then at the ballot box in 2026. Of course, we don't have to wait for Inauguration Day to get started -- there's plenty of work to do right now. And with that, check out your weekly to-dos: Your weekly to-dos - Learn how to join or start an Indivisible group tomorrow, December 17 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Are you interested in being part of a local network of like-minded people who want to fight to protect our freedoms, families, and futures during the next Trump administration? Maybe you already know that you are interested in starting an Indivisible group, but don't know what the first steps are? Join us on this call, where we'll give a brief overview of Indivisible, go over the first steps to building a local network, and tell you how to begin taking action in your community, supported by a national movement.
- Tell your representative to push for the publication of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). The Equal Rights Amendment has cleared the threshold for ratification, but it's been held up because of GOP opposition and legal debates. With just 35 days until Trump takes office, we must do all we can to enshrine equality into our Constitution. Call your representative today and tell them to push President Biden and VP Harris to publish the ERA.
- Tell your Democratic senators to fill every judicial vacancy. December 20 is the final day of this Congressional session, and the Senate is on track to confirm more judges than Trump did during his administration. That means that the pressure we've been putting on Democratic senators is working -- we just need to keep it up to ensure that they keep going. Tell your senators you expect them to put in the long hours necessary over these next few days to get all pro-democracy judges confirmed!
- Tell your Republican senators to block Kash Patel from becoming the Director of the FBI. The FBI already has a long and troubling history of targeting individuals who challenge power while often letting corporate criminals go unchecked. However, appointing Patel would entrench the worst abuses of power and turn the bureau into a tool for political vengeance. If you have a Republican senator, contact them today and tell them to oppose any effort to confirm Kash Patel as FBI Director.
- Join our "Worth Fighting For" Mass Reportback on Thursday, December 19 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Since Election Day, thousands of people have joined more than 500 community gatherings to connect with neighbors and plan for the tough work ahead. Join the mass call to hear organizers report back on all that's happened since Election Day and share ideas on how people can take action moving forward. Because there's so much that's worth fighting for.
