- Ending forced prison labor—as in Nevada, where voters passed a measure last month to remove slavery and involuntary servitude as a criminal punishment in their state constitution.
- Giving those behind bars the path to an education—as we helped achieve last year, when access to Pell Grants for incarcerated students was officially restored.
- Getting rid of money bail—we've seen success across states, including in New York, where reforms that limited the use of money bail led to a 30 percent drop in the statewide jail population.
