Dear MoveOn member,
Any day now, Jack Smith is expected to turn in his report to Attorney General Merrick Garland, outlining Donald Trump's role in the January 6 insurrection and MAGA's attempt to overturn the 2020 election.1 It's crucial that Attorney General Garland releases the report as soon as possible before Donald Trump takes office in January.
Make no mistake about it: This is likely our LAST chance to read for ourselves the full lengths Trump went to in order to overturn the 2020 election.
We the people deserve to know the full story of what exactly Donald Trump did and when.
Thanks for all you do.

P.S. See our email below for more information about why Attorney General Merrick Garland must release the special counsel's report on Trump.
Dear MoveOn member,
Special counsel Jack Smith, who brought charges against Donald Trump for his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election, is set to resign before Donald Trump takes office.2
This news, while not all that surprising, means that Trump is on the verge of avoiding any accountability for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.3 But we the people deserve to know the full story of what exactly Donald Trump did and when.
And now that the Supreme Court has granted Trump "presidential immunity"—which opens the door for Trump to abuse his power (again) and do whatever he wants without any consequences—this makes it crucial now more than ever for the American people to find out the depth of Trump's crimes.
That's why we must not allow Jack Smith and his boss, Attorney General Merrick Garland to sail off into the sunset without releasing the in-depth report of Trump's role in the "stop the steal" efforts.
But with Trump set to be inaugurated on January 20, the window of opportunity for AG Garland to release the report is rapidly closing.
Donald Trump's reelection as president by the narrowest margin of victory since the 19th century means that nearly all of his criminal cases have either been dismissed or put on hold for now.4,5
And despite what Trump and his supporters claim, his reelection as president must not mean that he gets to skirt accountability in the history books and public record.
It's not hyperbole to believe that this is likely our last chance to read for ourselves the full lengths Trump went to in order to overturn democracy a few years ago before he and his Cabinet of loyalists take office again. In fact, Trump has already made clear his intention to go after those who once investigated him.6
Attorney General Garland must move swiftly to release the full report before it's too late. Sign the petition now, and share with three friends!
Thanks for all you do.
