Reminder to RSVP

RSVP for the Progressive Power Summit this Friday-Sunday.

Dear Andra,

Starting this Friday, fellow MoveOn members from all over the country are joining Working Families Party's National Director Maurice Mitchell and a slate of movement leaders, with a special address by Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II for MoveOn's Progressive Power Summit. We would love to see you there.

RSVP now

This is a free virtual summit for anyone interested in advancing their organizing and fueling progressive wins across the country! Join us on Oct 1-3, 2021 starting at noon ET on Friday.

The Progressive Power Summit is an opportunity to join progressives and level up your organizing skills to help create a better future. Here are just a few of the movement leaders we will learn from at this week's summit:

  • Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II is the president and senior lecturer at Repairers of the Breach, co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, and architect of the Moral Mondays movement. We will hear from Rev. Dr. Barber about the fight to protect democracy, the historic context of voting rights and disenfranchisement in America, and how modern disenfranchisement impacts the makeup of individual state legislatures and Congress.
  • Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis is co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival with the Rev. Dr. Barber, which organized the largest coordinated wave of nonviolent civil disobedience in 21st-century America and has since emerged as one of the nation's leading social movement forces.
  • Maurice Mitchell is the national director of the Working Families Party. Maurice is a nationally recognized social movement strategist, a visionary leader in the Movement for Black Lives, and a community organizer for racial, social, and economic justice. We will learn from Maurice about his reflections on our major wins in 2020 and how MoveOn members can tip the balance for progressive wins in battleground states in 2022.
  • The Honorable Tiffany D. Thomas is a member of the Houston City Council in Texas. She is the first Black woman and person under 40 to serve in this role, and she will speak with us about the importance of running for local office and how she won her city council race while working full-time.
  • Morris Pearl and Erica Payne respectively serve as the chair and president of the Patriotic Millionaires, a group of hundreds of high-net-worth Americans who are committed to making all Americans better off by building a more prosperous, stable, and inclusive nation. We will talk with Morris and Erica about how the rich—and the politicians they try to control—manipulate the U.S tax code to ensure the rich get richer, and everyone else is left holding the bag.
  • Texas State Representative Jasmine Crockett played an integral role in the push for federal voting rights legislation when she left the state for Washington, D.C., to block the passage of a GOP-backed voter suppression bill.

Whether it's winning elections in 2022 or advocating for progressive policy change, there is so much work ahead of us. The Progressive Power Summit is about coming together to learn from one another so that we can strengthen our movement, build long-lasting relationships, and continue to fight for a better society, a more inclusive future, and a world marked by equity, sustainability, justice, and love.

Ready to build your impact? RSVP for a better future and attend the free 2021 MoveOn Progressive Power Summit this weekend, October 1-3!

Thanks for all you do, and we look forward to seeing you.

–Chris, Emily, Saskia, Gabi, and the rest of the team
