I've been working in politics since I was in college for one simple reason: I want to make our country a better place. That's why I dropped out of college to work on President Obama's campaign in 2008, why I worked in the administration after Democrats won back the White House, and why I came to work at the DNC in the first place.
I grew up in Wisconsin as the son of educators, and I learned early on about the importance of caring for others in your community. I remember sitting around the kitchen table, listening to my mother's stories about her students and their struggles. All I wanted to do was help. It was those stories -- and the countless others I've heard along the way -- that inspired my work to elect leaders who I, and you, believe in.
The Democratic Party is the party of freedom and opportunity: the defense of the former, the expansion of the latter. To build on the progress we've already made, we need to work day in and day out to make sure that we can protect our Democratic majorities, hold Republicans accountable, and continue building the strongest Democratic Party in history. If you care about voting rights, women's rights, good jobs, public education, labor unions, sound foreign policy, climate change, immigration reform, and so much more -- ELECT MORE DEMOCRATS.
The support of folks like you is key to our party's success in the coming years. So, I have to ask: Can you chip in $7 to the DNC today to help build our party and elect Democrats nationwide?
My time at the DNC has made it clear to me that fighting directly to elect more Democrats everywhere -- even in traditionally red states -- is the most linear path to making real change in our country.
There are families all across the country, in states like Wisconsin, that have been forgotten and left behind, that deserve a government that will work directly for them. By electing Democrats up and down the ballot in states across the country, we can make our shared vision a reality.
The DNC is on the front lines of this ongoing fight, and we're counting on the dedication of this team to build on our momentum and lift Democrats to victory in 2021, 2022, and beyond.
If you can, make a donation of $7 or more today to help the DNC continue running the programs we need to support Democrats everywhere and deliver for families across the country.
Our party is strong, and it'll continue growing stronger with your help.
Yours in the fight,
Sam
