This is how drug companies buy our government

In these uncertain times, there's one thing we can count on:

Tell Congress:

"Reject drug company cash. Stop being part of a rigged game where patients lose and Big Pharma always wins. Stand up for patients, not profits."

There's a lot of chaos and uncertainty in the world today. But in these uncertain times, there's one thing we can count on: Large pharmaceutical corporations are all too happy to shower cash on their allies from both parties in Congress.

Kaiser Health News reports that drug companies are lavishing money on a few of their most favored friends, including Senators Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Susan Collins (R-ME).1

They must be getting their money's worth. Americans pay higher drug prices than people in any other industrialized country. Our government funds a large chunk of research for many medications, then gives the patent to for-profit corporations so they can pump up their already-obscene profits. This creates a stranglehold on life-saving medicines. Even worse, drug companies take the money they rake in from this "patent monopoly" system and funnel some of it to favored politicians to keep their profits soaring. It's a vicious cycle, where patients lose, and sometimes die, while drug companies get to play with house money.

Tell Congress: Don't take Pharma bribes to let drug companies gouge the public.

Skyrocketing drug prices are the product of government policy—policies that give drug companies patent monopolies, but don't require them to sell medications at fair prices. It's time to end this rigged game, where patients lose and Big Pharma always wins.

We can fix this. We can break Big Pharma's stranglehold on drug patents and demand that our pharmaceutical system serve people, not profits. Congress will stay cozy with Big Pharma unless we demand that it act in the interests of the people. Let's unite our voices, and make sure everyone in Congress hears us.

Tell Congress: End Big Pharma's monopolies. Protect people, not profits. Reject Pharma's bribes!

Thanks,

Alex Lawson
