I'll make this quick since we're still out on this long road trip. I'm grateful for all of you who have made a critical donation towards our important August goal. It's a goal we really can't miss, and I want to tell you why.
People want to know if this campaign has momentum. They want to know if they too should support us out of all the candidates reaching out to them. When you make a contribution (or, as is often the case, an additional contribution), it really helps them believe that this is possible, that we're building something historic, that their support can make a difference, and that they'll find themselves in the best company with people like you across the country.
You already know that we don't take PAC money. We haven't taken a dime from special interests, corporations, or D.C. lobbyists. Instead, we are 100% focused on people and the things we can do together to make the lives of our fellow Americans better. It's the best way to run, and I truly believe the only way to win.
That's why we've been on the road nonstop these past many days. We were just in South Carolina and North Carolina and Virginia. We had town halls and round tables and conversations. We talked about ending gun violence and fighting climate change and achieving universal health care and rewriting our immigration laws in our own image.
But to keep going and keep fighting and keep showing up everywhere, for everyone, every single day, we're going to need to hit our August goal by tonight. Some campaigns can afford to miss their goals by a little—fall a bit short—and still make things work. We've got to hit ours, and it's going to take all of us.
