Friends -
When we launched this campaign back in February, we weren't entirely sure what to expect.
Would there be an outpouring of support or would things start slowly? No one could be entirely sure.
But then, shortly before Bernie's announcement spread on Twitter, Georgia from North Carolina made a small contribution, the first of the campaign. A few seconds later, Michael from New York added his.
And we were off…
2.5 million donations later (faster than any candidate ever) and with more than 1 million volunteers signed up to organize, we are in a great position to win this thing.
But in the next few days we face our biggest challenge yet — an important end-of-month fundraising deadline.
And the reason this one is important is because shortly after it comes to an end, we're going to make some big budget decisions about staffing and advertising.
So we have to ask:
The truth is, we are more than halfway to the Iowa caucus from the day we launched. From there it all happens very fast. So we're hoping to be prepared well in advance with budgets and plans. That's why your contribution — especially today — is so important.
All my best,
Faiz Shakir
Campaign Manager
