"In reversal from 2016, McConnell says he would fill a potential Supreme Court vacancy in 2020" Remember when Senator Mitch McConnell said that confirming a Justice during an election year was impossible? That we shouldn't do it? That a President Obama Supreme Court Justice pick couldn't possibly happen because it just wasn't the right time? Well, funnily enough, he's changed his tune. Early last week, when asked what he'd do if a Supreme Court Justice died before the 2020 election, he smiled and said, "Oh, we'd fill it." If you're as sick and tired of this hypocrisy as I am, pitch in $1 right now to make sure we take back the Senate and turn the tides on Senator McConnell and his buddy President Trump next year. This much is clear: Senator McConnell will stop at nothing to keep his boss's legacy alive and well -- and he knew exactly what he was doing when he said he didn't believe in confirming a Supreme Court Justice during an election year. He knew that Republicans would throw that out the door if their favorite guy got elected. They knew it was just a way to safeguard their chance to put even more ultra-conservative judges on the bench. They knew it was just a way to keep control over women, people of color, and LGBTQ people. What Senator McConnell said was low. It was frightening. And we must prevent him from seeing this outcome through by flipping the Senate. Make a $1 donation right now to help us fight back >> I'm sick and tired of stunts like these -- and I know you are too. Sincerely, Chuck |
