We've sent a few notes about our first FEC deadline, so we thought it was important to explain why these requests mean so much to our campaign.
Here is the plain truth: you know this campaign is funded by a record number of people giving small donations (about a $20 average this time). But what you may not know is that the vast majority of donations come in response to emails like this one.
So that means we have to ask. And especially before this first deadline. Because when it's done, we'll publicly report not just how much money we've raised, but how many donations we've received.
That's why we set an ambitious goal of 1 million donations. And the truth is, right now we're short of where we need to be to reach that mark. But if we can get to 35,000 donations TODAY, we'll have a chance to get there.
