In just a moment, I am going to ask you to become a founding donor of our campaign for president. Sunday at midnight is our first quarterly FEC fundraising deadline -- and potentially our most important. Give me a quick moment to explain why this matters so much.
When this deadline passes, our fundraising numbers will be made public for the first time in this race -- as will those of each of our primary opponents (and, as you know, there are a lot of great Democrats running for president).
We know that some of them will have outraised us. That's okay -- because I can guarantee we won't be outworked.
But the viability and strength of our movement will be measured by the press and political pundits who are going to comb through our FEC report. Politics shouldn't work that way, but it's the reality of the situation.
And the truth is, we're a little behind where we want to be with less than a week to go, which is why I'm personally asking you to make a donation before our most important deadline of the campaign so far:
