Activist - A sweeping, historic Medicare for All bill was just introduced in the U.S. House this week, which means now is a critical moment to show massive grassroots support for the bill. Several proposals to move America toward universal coverage have already been introduced, but Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s Medicare for All Act stands out from the pack as a true, single-payer proposal. Nearly 100 Members of Congress have already signed on to co-sponsor, but we can pressure more to sign on if enough people speak up now. Add your name to join Indivisible in telling our Members of Congress to co-sponsor the historic Medicare for All Act. Our country spends more per person on healthcare than any other country in the world, yet we have worse health outcomes than many other high-income countries. It’s way past time for America to join the ranks of countries around the world and guarantee healthcare to all people as a right, not a privilege, through a comprehensive Medicare for All plan. The Medicare for All Act will not only ensure universal coverage – it will improve the quality of coverage while lowering costs, with no premiums, co-pays, or deductibles. It would guarantee that every person living in the U.S. has access to health care services, including: primary care, hospital and outpatient services, prescription drugs, dental, vision, audiology, women’s reproductive services, maternity and newborn care, long-term services and supports, mental health and substance abuse treatment, laboratory and diagnostic services, ambulatory services, and more. And when we say every person living in the U.S., we mean every person living in the U.S. – it’s the most inclusive healthcare proposal yet for immigrant communities because it expands access to all families regardless of their immigration status. Add your name today -- let’s show widespread support for the Medicare for All Act. Join Indivisible in this fight! Democrats in the House can use their new power to build critical momentum to make our healthcare not a privilege for the few, but a right for all. We have to pressure them to get it done.
