These billboards incur a ton of risk and come with hefty price tags

Activists like you have gotten our billboards this far, and we're counting on you to help us expand. ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏

Pamela: Trump is putting servicemembers in impossible positions, deploying them to U.S. cities and ordering them to carry out an illegal bombing campaign in the waters off of Latin America that has resulted in gross human rights abuses.

While Trump demands unquestioning obedience, Win Without War is reminding troops they have options in case they're given illegal orders. We've placed billboards near military bases and where troops have been deployed across the country to connect servicemembers with resources for this very scenario.

The truth is, the effectiveness of our campaign makes us a target, and the impact comes with a cost. Coverage of our billboards has invited a flurry of hate speech, harassment, and intimidation from right-wing provocateurs. But we are as undeterred as ever.

In fact, as servicemembers fear personal legal blowback for their role in Trump's illegal campaigns, we have plans to expand this campaign even further — and we're counting on you once more to keep expanding.

Our "Know Your Rights" billboards are driving a national conversation far beyond the bases where they were placed. The Associated Press, Huffington Post, and the Chicago Sun-Times amplified it nationwide. Right-wing outlets including Breitbart, Infowars, and extremists on social media followed suit with "investigations" of their own.

Our simple, attention-grabbing messages have Trump and his far-right allies trying to silence us. Trump recently lashed out at six lawmakers who echoed this same message, backing troops who refuse to obey illegal orders.

They're scrambling because their legal justifications are crumbling around them.

Staff officers and at least one drone pilot have sought advice out of fear of legal consequences for their role in Trump and Hegseth's illegal boat strikes.[1] Legal experts and military lawyers agree that these strikes amount to murder. Senator Adam Schiff even warned servicemembers that, "I would certainly not want to rely on the rationale I've read" to justify the strikes.[2]

As more servicemembers question their role in Trump's illegal, unauthorized strikes in the Caribbean and Pacific, we can be there for them with resources and support. Here's our plan:

  • Extend our current Florida billboards around the U.S. Southern Command HQ, the combatant command covering nearly ALL forces in Latin America.
  • Expand our reach even further by launching billboards near the headquarters of Joint Special Operations Command, the command immediately responsible for at least one boat strike.
  • Launch billboards outside Naval Station Norfolk, the home port of the Ford carrier strike group Trump deployed to the Caribbean.

Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team

P.S. The Nation just named our billboard campaign to its 2025 Honor Roll! We're humbled to be in such impressive company, and remain committed to ensuring that servicemembers have the resources to exercise their rights if presented with illegal orders. You can view all the honorees here.
