At this point, there's nothing President Trump could say that would shock me. His tirades and rants make the news every day.

And last week, he directed one at me.

Trump attacked me personally because he doesn't like that I stand up to the far-right's chaos and corruption. Even more than that, Trump is terrified that this campaign can defeat his handpicked candidate here in NC and take back power for the American people.

I'm not afraid of the president calling me names or riling up his MAGA base against me. But I know that this is just the start of the GOP directing all their attention at us. We've seen it time and time again: When Donald Trump attacks a candidate, the GOP money-machine revs up against them, too.

Donald Trump is dragging us toward yet another senseless war—this time with Venezuela. His administration has already launched more than 20 deadly strikes on small boats in the Caribbean, killing at least 87 people.¹

Trump claims these attacks target "narco-terrorists," but the White House has offered no proof that these vessels carried drugs or cartel members.

Now, Trump's threatening to go even further. Trump has floated airstrikes and even a land invasion of Venezuela—all without congressional approval. There are already over 15,000 U.S. troops stationed in the region, and an aircraft carrier strike group is on standby.²

But we can stop this. This week, the House may vote on a war powers resolution, a bill that would block Trump from attacking Venezuela without congressional approval.³This vote is our best chance to stop another endless war before it starts.

The fair maps movement is doing a ton of work right now to ensure the actions of our government truly reflect the will of the people. We wanted to give you a quick update on where things stand:

KEY UPDATES

On December 4, the Supreme Court sided with anti-democracy extremists, allowing Texas's racially gerrymandered map to stand. The fair maps movement will remain in this fight to ensure that voters in Texas — and nationwide — have equal representation.
The Indiana Senate voted on December 11 to reject one of the most egregiously gerrymandered maps in the country. This is a testament to the work we're doing to mobilize voters in defense of fair maps nationwide.
Missouri voters submitted 300,000 citizen signatures to put the state's congressional gerrymander on the ballot next year.

ONGOING LITIGATION

The National Redistricting Action Fund and its affiliates are involved in cases in 5 states — Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, and Texas — concerning the makeup of up to 10 congressional districts and 7 legislative districts.
The National Redistricting Foundation is also involved in 2 cases defending the integrity of census data.
